Job Description

We are looking to hire a Software Developer intern to help maintain and improve our user interfaces and services.  You will be working as a part of our small software team on websites, a mobile app, and the backend services needed to support them.

Our passion is to deliver advanced insights in an easy-to-digest manner, so we are looking for someone who is excited to focus on user experience.  We have a lot of big ideas, so you should be prepared to tackle large projects and explore new concepts.

About us

Trellis is a hardware-enabled software company that helps farmers make better decisions about their farm.  We sell hardware that farmers install in their fields and our web and mobile dashboard lets them view the information.  We also provide automated alerts / reports and have a website for our dealer network to buy hardware and manage their customers.

Our software stack is mostly javascript: React and React Native for frontend development, and Node.js for the backend.  Some of the tools we use are Typescript, GraphQL, Apollo, Firebase and Expo.

We are accepting applicants for both full and part time positions (20-40 hours per week) for the semester. Compensation will be based on experience and is a combination of hourly rate and performance based bonuses. The position will be based at our primary office in Peachtree Corners, GA. Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work in fast paced, collaborative environment

  • Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS

  • Knowledge of ES6 javascript (promises, modules, arrow functions, etc)

Extra Credit

  • Familiarity with React, or other frontend javascript frameworks

  • Experience developing and using APIs

  • Familiarity with modern development tools (git, npm, Chrome DevTools)

  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases

  • Basic understanding of Node.js and backend services

  • Experience with commercial agriculture
